Janina Olszewska was born in 1997 in Lidzbark Warminski, Poland. She started to play violin at the age of six by attending to music school in her hometown. After few years she continued her learning at The Secondary Music School ‘Feliks Nowowiejski’ in Gdansk, which she graduated with honours in the class of Malgorzata Skorupa. Currently she is a violin student in The Stanislaw Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdansk and Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg. She has won success in numerous competitions, including second prize at the 18th International Music Competition Premio Citta du Padova (2018), second prize and special award at the „Violin Talents 2018” Music Competition in Poznań, Poland, second prize at the International Music Competition „Giovani Musicisti” Citta di Treviso (2017) and third prize at the XII Macroregional Chamber Music Competition’ in Gdansk (2015). She has taken part in international masterclasses and festivals – Aurora Music Festival in Stockholm; Mendelssohn Festival in Wengen, Switzerland; Euro Chamber Music Festival in Gdańsk, Poland and Schiermonnikoog Young Talents Festival in Netherlands. She worked with internationally acclaimed artists like Yair Kless, Eszter Haffner, Philippe Graffin, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Wanda Wilkomirska and others. In years 2017 and 2018 she received a scholarship for the best students in Academy of Music in Gdansk. In 2019 she gave concerts under the program „Polish Rising Music Stars”.
